Our Story
Lyric Genie was created by Megan Ruthven, a software engineer with almost 10 years of experience at Google. Having worked with innovative technologies since college, Megan was excited to explore new creative possibilities with magical lyric generation.
Megan started Lyric Genie after experimenting with creative music generation. She had countless song ideas but not enough time to develop lyrics for each one. To streamline this creative process, she built a tool that lets you simply chat about your ideas and have fully structured lyrics summoned for you in seconds.
In March 2025, Lyric Genie was created during the Lovable Hackathon and has been continuously improved ever since.
Our Mission
Our mission at Lyric Genie is to make song creation accessible to everybody. We aim to transform creative expression by reducing the time between inspiration and creation, allowing more people to bring their musical ideas to life.
By lowering the barrier to entry for songwriting, we enable anyone to express themselves musically, spreading joy through creative expression and making the art of lyric creation available to all, regardless of technical skill or experience.
Creativity
We believe everyone has creative ideas worth expressing. The Genie helps transform those ideas into lyrics that resonate.
Accessibility
Making lyric creation available to all. Just chat with the Genie about your ideas and watch them turn into song-ready lyrics.
Innovation
Constantly evolving our tools to provide a better, more intuitive experience for creative expression.
How the Genie's Magic Works
The Genie listens to your wishes and conjures lyrics that capture your creative vision. Whether you describe a feeling, tell a story, or paint a picture with words, the Genie understands and delivers structured, ready-to-use lyrics.
Unlike a simple text tool, the Genie doesn't just repeat what you say. It understands the emotion, energy, and creative intent behind your words. This deeper understanding helps create lyrics that truly match your artistic vision.
The Magic in Action:
- You chat with the Genie about your song idea
- The Genie absorbs the mood, theme, and style of your wish
- Your vision is transformed into structured, polished lyrics
- The completed lyrics appear on your screen, ready to use
- Keep chatting to refine until every line is perfect
The Genie's magic is continuously improved based on testing and feedback to grant even better wishes over time.
